In the Apostolic Free Celtic Church, our perspective transcends traditional boundaries while remaining deeply rooted in the rich tapestry of our faith. We proudly embrace a vision of inclusivity and diversity, recognizing the sacred role of women within the Church and celebrating their significant contributions to our community and mission.
Our belief is grounded in the fundamental principle that women are not only equals in the eyes of God but are, in many respects, even more upstream than some roles traditionally assigned to men. We hold a deep respect for the sacred feminine and the unique gifts and insights that women bring to the life of the Church.
However, it is crucial to emphasize that our approach is not about breaking from tradition for the sake of novelty or change. Instead, it is a genuine recognition that within the body of Christ, every individual, regardless of gender, has a unique and vital role to play in the kingdom of God.
We firmly believe in the value of diversity within our community and recognize that each person's gifts and talents, regardless of gender, should be recognized, celebrated, and utilized for the greater good of the Church and society at large.
At the same time, we acknowledge the importance of honoring our historical practices and the sacredness of our traditions. Therefore, while we embrace inclusivity and diversity in ministry, we also maintain the traditional understanding that only men can be ordained to the holy orders of deacon, priest, and bishop.
For women, we uphold the sacred and essential holy order of deaconess. We believe that by preserving this distinct and honorable role within the Church, we can maintain the integrity of our faith and the authority of our traditions while also embracing a more inclusive and diverse approach to ministry.
In the spirit of unity and respect, we encourage all members of our community to embrace their God-given roles and responsibilities within the Church. We affirm the importance of exercising authority without abuse and seek to create a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to fulfill their calling.
Just as various parts of the body work together harmoniously, we envision a Church where all members, regardless of gender, function together for the common purpose of serving God and advancing His kingdom on Earth. We believe that by embracing diversity and inclusivity, we can more fully reflect the image of God and bear witness to the transformative power of His love in the world.
